Unless you are going with pure white, a sample paint spot is the best step you can take to avoid a poor paint choice. Paint a large section of wall, at least 4x4 feet, to judge the effect. Choose a section where natural light will illuminate the paint so you can see how the paint looks in all types of light. If you have the slightest doubt, choose another shade. Be sure to paint primer over your test spot if you decide not to use that color.
